mediation
at work's
directors are John Drowley and Liz Hine, both of whom are
trained mediators and share a background in community mediation.
John has been working in people management
and organisational development for many years. He is an accredited
mediator with CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution)
and a member of CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and
Development).
Liz
is an accredited mediator and has over 15 years experience
of management in the voluntary sector, with an emphasis on
health and social care. In addition to mediating workplace
disputes, she is a conciliator in medical and disability rights.
mediation
at work
also has a pool of associate workplace mediators to call on,
all of whom are accredited mediators or working towards accreditation.
The work we do is based upon some important
beliefs and values:
 |
conflict
is present to varying degrees whenever people come together,
and organisations are no exception |
 |
conflict
itself is neutral - it is how we respond to it that determines
whether it is constructive or destructive |
 |
people
working together to resolve disputes achieve more effective
and lasting results than working separately |
 |
the
real experts in conflict are the parties to the dispute
- it is to them that we turn for the way forward |
 |
people
bring their intellect, their emotions and their behaviours
into the workplace - we work with them at all three levels;
what they know and think, what they feel and sense, what
they do and say. |
